Practically everyone knows I'm a cupcake enthusiast, but when it comes to baking them myself, I'm embarrassingly horrible. From setting a toaster on fire, to melting a spatula while making grilled cheese, I'm notorious for screwing things up in the kitchen. I'm trying to change that, though! So here is my first attempt at baking cupcakes on my own, with absolutely no help or guidance. The vanilla cake recipe I used was from Martha Stewart and the chocolate frosting, well, I owe that to my friend Duncan Hines. They turned out better than I expected and for once, I was happy to eat something I baked myself. We all have to start somewhere, right? And sticking to my little cupcake theme, I wanted to share these cute little earrings I picked up at Forever 21. I don't see myself wearing them much, if at all, but I just had to add them to my collection. For less than a toonie, I can't go wrong.

Those earrings were less than 2 bucks???? So cheap! I know what you mean tho. With f21 jewelry I never expect to wear it much or even for it to last, but just to have it and to spend so little on it is good enough for me! Those cupcakes look scrumptious girl!

From the pretty papers to the pearl decorations you did a really good job "prettyfying" the cupcakes! Looks yum!
i just baked this weekend! unfortunately i screwed up the frosting. i threw in 2/3 cup of white sugar, and then realized what i did a second later. i had the icing sugar RIGHT beside me too. your cupcakes look great! the paper cups are too cute

The cupcakes look really good. I'm a failure when it comes to baking and applying the icing. I'm always afraid that they're not fully cooked so they always end up slightly burned.

I know what you mean about being hazardous in the kitchen since Im known for that as well but through the years I've changed and am much more careful now though I still have no idea how to make anything from scratch! Cupcakes = cake mix, pasta = side kick/hamburger helper etc. hahaha
