What could possibly be inside the dust bag... REVEAL SOON!
Has anyone seen this hand drawn QR code for Marc Jacobs? For those who aren't familiar, QR codes can be scanned with barcode readers on smartphones and typically lead to text information or a redirect to a mobile-optimized site. I for one am a huge advocate of QR technology and see the practice becoming more popular once businesses see the value in them and learn how to use them effectively. This QR code for Marc Jacobs is absolutely adorable and extremely unusual in design, so I doubted if a scanner would even be able to read the code. I was wrong. The scanner on my Blackberry picked it up instantly, but it unfortunately didn't lead to anything. Huge disappointment! Marc Jacobs definitely has the potential to launch a unique interactive campaign, or at the least, a mobile site, alongside this creative QR code. Hopefully that's something they're working on. I'm curious: Are QR codes used in your area? Do you have a QR scanner on your phone? Do you think this technology will last, or is it merely a passing trend?

To be honest, I'm glad you wrote this entry because I've seen these codes around alot, especially in mags and I never know what they are or what to do with them. I don't have a scanner on my phone but I will download one right now because now you've really gotten me curious.

Hmmm Im going to have to guess that it's a clutch or some sort of some shoes? lol Im excited to see your reveal though!!! As for QR codes, I think they are starting to grow a bit in my city but I honestly don't think they are catching on too quick, unfortunately my phone doesn't have a scanner =( BUT I do know these are hot in asia! I saw them everywhere last time I was there and had no idea what they were!
I didn't know anything about these codes, I think Belgium is a bit behind on that haha... will keep you posted if I see it anywhere :)

too bad the QR code didn't lead to anything...wtf? major fail on their part~ but they did make a helluva cute patootie graphic.
I'm smart-phone-less, and so I have no personal accounts on its utility, but if everyone starts having smart phones, then I see the usefulness of instantaneous access & not having to type in the address or googling it on the tiny phone screens/keypads.

wahhh i want to know what's inside that bag! >< That marc jacobs QR code is so cute & creative! I remember japan had those codes a while back and the US recently adopted it~ I think it will stay! Because bar codes can't hold as much information as the QR code can~

There's ton of those on ads nowadays though I don't really see people actually scanning them lol. That MJ hand drawn one is super cute!
I got the Scanner on my mytouch phone but I do really use it much. It would be awesome if it was on posters, shirts and stuff.
LOL If I were passing somebody that had it on their shirt, I would stop them and ask to scan. (Earning a glare and a hair pull *You crazy b*tch!" Being yelled but thats just an old lady)
Enough on my ramble, Mr. Marc needs to take it far.
i hope it leads to something more, they definitely should use that technology and develop it further

I see them around and I know what they're for, but I never really feel the urge to scan them (I don't even know how to!) I think it has potential, seeing as we're getting more and more tech oriented.
I think technology should and will be developed not only among the products. useful for architectural monuments: scan code - and read about the building. very convenient.
i always see these codes, but i'm too lazy to open my phone and scan them! most of the time i have no incentive to do it!
