Last minute Christmas shopping at Square One!

Writing Christmas present tags for my cousins.

I don't know why I continue ordering mojitos even knowing I hate them. I thought maybe one day I would start to enjoy them, but nahhh.

I was Daniel's secret santa :P

Done wrapping gifts for the immediate fam! I'm a horrible gift wrapper. The back of the presents look HORRIBLE, but you can't tell from the front ;)

Tis the season for lots of wine!

Easiest way to wrap: gift boxes. I'm lazy like that.

Just chillin' with DJ and Dwight Shrute :P DJ Got me the bobble head hehe yay! I've always wanted one.

Allen's cheesecakes. Demetre's and Boston Pizza.

2AM ping pong when we had nothing better to do...

ILU <3

Snowman cookies!

Meet Justin. :)

I was super excited to see How do you know? and was thoroughly disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it.

Unboxing my brand spankin' new iPad!!!

Santa likes wine too.

DJ and his lobster & crab dip at our late night Jack Astor's run.

The boys were hungry.

Gingerbread house that I built with my cousins Tiffany and Vivian!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DJ!!! Bamboo & Boston Pizza. Also, the bambooreo sundae cake made especially by head chef Joe himself ;)

Little cousins playing "Pass The Parcel" on Christmas Eve.

Grandpa's Christmas tree with all of our presents!

Little Mikey and I :) (blurred his face to protect his privacy :P)

Cousins Vincent and Correne looking at our silly photos after Christmas dinner.

Connie & Nicky at lunch after a tiring morning of boxing day shopping!

This is how my family does Christmas. With grey gooooose.

Did any of you Canadians go boxing day shopping yesterday?! I bought lots of cute underwear and a couple cardigans and sweaters from Banana Republic from their huge "before noon" sale. That being said, we waited a good hour in line to pay, which is ridiculous, but expected. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great Winter break so far! I'm off to Chicago tomorrow night for the next couple days with my best friend! Definitely a spontaneous trip, but I'm super excited! I guess I'm going on a mini vacation this Winter after all. :) I know this is last minute and I'm only going to be there for a couple days, but what are some must-dos/sees in Chicago?!

In love with my iPad & MBMJ sleeve.

After months of working with iPads at work, I finally have my own, courtesy of my lovely father as a birthday and early Christmas present! I love it! I splurged on this Marc by Marc Jacobs neoprene sleeve, but I can't say it was an impulse purchase. I mean, come on! The iconic MBMJ pattern that I absolutely adore paired with pink bows?! My roomies even agreed that it was so me, so I just couldn't resist! I was also considering the Michael Kors Jet Set iPad Case, but instead decided to get the MBMJ sleeve and an additional pink silicone case from Aritzia. I've also gone app-crazy and have downloaded over $50 worth of apps and digital magazine subscriptions, but I figured the iPad is pretty useless without apps... right? I'm kind of ridiculous when it comes to decking out my electronics, I know.

Anywho, it feels a little odd that I'm at home before Christmas. Riiiiiight about now in previous years for as long as I can remember, I would be spending time on the beaches in the Bahamas, outlet shopping in sunny Florida, or eating unlimited creme brulee in the cruise dining room. It's a shame none of that is happening this year, but on the bright side, I get to spend more time with friends and family. Speaking of which, time to go hang out with the boys! Hope everyone is staying warm :)

Sequins, sparkles, and glitter.

This holiday season I'm dreaming of a white Christmas sequins, sparkles, and glitter! It's funny because had you asked me two years ago, I would have told you I hated anything that shimmered or sparkled or anything that was obnoxiously in-your-face like this. I take back my words! The holiday season, whether it be Christmas or New Years, should be celebrated with glamor, dazzling lights, and an outrageously glimmering outfit paired with your favorite festive nail polish! I'm personally loving the China Glaze Party Hearty collection and I'm thankful I got it before it sold out because it's totally Christmassy and awesome! Anywho, I'm planning to finish up my Christmas shopping tomorrow with Livia and I'm not looking forward to the retail chaos and crazy parking lots, but it's my fault for procrastinating. Are you all done your Christmas shopping? And what trends are you digging this season? Hate or love the sequins?!

December 1-15, 2010

Some of the design books I got as birthday presents from friends :) I know, it's such a nerdy gift, but they clearly know me well because I love it! Slowly building my design book collection :)

I swear, everyone got me cupcake-related cards this year. LOL. Again, proof that my friends/family know me so well. <3

Trapped in the University Community Centre... last minute cramming before my Advertising final.

Nicky made us yummy strawberry smoothies!

Middlesex College. Pretty building, but I never have classes in there!

I bought new booties by Chinese Laundry. I got them on sale, which is pretty much the only reason I got them hahaha. Definitely not suitable for winter, but I could save them for Spring/Fall. I guess. Or should I just return them? I don't really NEED them...

I was looking through my iTouch one night and found this saved in my notes. Oops! I didn't see it until now and it was saved so long ago. Aw. <3

First time out of the house after being snowed in for days! The people finally came to shovel our driveway. And yeah, I kinda froze to death in my pjs, but I only lasted like a minute and came back inside.

Check out this AWESOME fort our neighbors made!!!

Studying... kind of.

Marshmallow overload, anyone?

On my way home from my document design exam, I spilled my Diet Coke in my bag and got the contents all wet :( I was super sad about my book and moleskine getting wet especially because I like to keep my books in PRISTINE condition and now they'll be stained & wavy forever. :(

And yeah... I burnt my waffles. Our toaster was kinda screwed up to begin with. It got really smokey and I didn't know what to do when I saw it, so I threw it outside in the snow. Needless to say, I had to buy us a new toaster.

I'm back home for the Holidays - yay! And just in time too. I missed out on the next big London snow storm that ended up delaying exams, which sucks because now my friends have to stay there even longer and we have to cancel our weekend plans. On another note, I really need to do my Christmas shopping-- I know, it's late. I have no idea what to get my parents or grandma!!! Any suggestions?!

Louis Vuitton: HERM Technology

Soon, Louis Vuitton bags and wallets will be able to detect their owner's emotions. A small charm will be created that incorporates a new "HERM" (heart and emotion rate monitor) that can be purchased with a bag or separately at Louis Vuitton stores worldwide. When attached to a bag, the HERM automatically transmits your location and heartbeat via Bluetooth/WIFI to the owner's smartphone. The concept is that the owner will be able to re-trace a trip that they took with their bag, and note when they were happy or sad. I love my brands, and I love LV... but what. is. this?! I am guilty of buying impractical things, but this, is just ridiculous. I guess I applaud Louis Vuitton for trying to create a broader social platform, but realistically, why do I care if my bag knows how I'm feeling? Designers can sell anything with their brand slapped on it and make a fortune.

You only turn twenty once.

Fruit cheesecake from my family & cousins. Although it got a little smushed, it was still delicious! I love cheesecake!

My friends and I stayed at the Hilton Toronto, but first we coated the room in pink balloons! Aww.

My two roomies. <3

Hilton Toronto lobby.

I have so many pictures of us in front of this tree, but barely any of them turned out well because none of us were looking at the camera! So characteristic of us, haha. I wanted a full group picture, but it didn't happen. More than half the guys are missing in this picture!

Then we broke the tree....

....and moved to a metal tree instead. :)

We had dinner at Dazzling Bar & Lounge on King West.

Look at the camera Allen, jeez!!!

This was undoubtedly the most delicious sushi roll I've ever had in my life. But it better be, seeing how it was $20 for this alone!

On the other hand, this was probably the most disgusting Sex on the Beach I've ever tasted! Bleh!

Me, DJ, and Alex.

Freda, Liv, Nicky, Allen.

Thanks Alex for the rose!

The girls I could never live without. So much love.

The cutest cupcake birthday card ever! She knows me too well.

Cupcakes!

SHOTSSSSS.

Everyone was so fascinated by this scenic elevator at the Hilton. We were lucky enough to be on the 30th floor so our room had a really nice view of Toronto.

We were previously deciding on whether to do the whole traditional clubbing thing or partake in some drunk karaoke and we decided on the latter at Bar-Plus. The guys were clearly so into it. I have a video of them dedicating "My Heart Will Go On" to me, but to save all our ears, I won't upload it... just yet. :)

My birthday cake flavoured birthday cake from Marble Slab! With rainbow sprinkles and gummy bears... just the way I like it. :)

It was a bitch to cut, though. Or maybe we didn't thaw it enough. Hmm...

And then on midnight of my actual birthday...

... my roommates surprised me with another ice cream cake, but this time from Dairy Queen! This time they made me cut it by myself and I struggled, lol.

The most ridiculous cake ever?! Long story short, my friends recently discovered the song "Becky" by Plies (it's horrible, FYI) and have been using my name in that context. LOL. Lovely.

Overall, I had a great twentieth birthday and I couldn't be more grateful for the lovely people in my life who made my day so special. I don't think I've ever had three birthday cakes in one year before! Anyway, I'm off to write my Advertising & Society exam worth 60% of my final mark (!!!) I've got my Document Design final tomorrow night and I'll be heading back home for the Holidays soon after. I'm super excited, especially because I know there is a little something waiting for me at home as a birthday/Christmas present from my dad. Can you guess what it is? :)
