Waking up to sunrises.

Weekend time again! Halloween party tomorrow, and a mini birthday celebration on Sunday for my mom! Sunday is also daylight savings, which means we gain an hour of sleep (hooray! I really need it). I want to dress up Halloween, but I don't know what to be. What are you guys being for Halloween?

Seasons are changing.

dark autumn mornings. hot showers at 6am. samosas and chocolate milk for breakfast. maple leaves falling from trees that get stuck in your hair. the crunch noise when you step on fallen leaves on the ground. cold air. pumpkin pies. warm drinks. beautiful pink-purple sunsets.

i very much enjoy canadian autumns, but i am longing for winter season.
fluffy white snow. christmas/holiday season. christmas trees, lights, cards. egg nog. gingerbread houses. birthday cakes. snowboarding, skating. thick jackets, sweaters. matching mitts, hats and scarves. christmas carols, movies, tv segments. being able to spend time with those who really matter.

Artificial unhappiness.

I remember a long time ago I talked about artificial happiness. It bugs anyone to be told to be happier, because that means there's something wrong with you when sometimes there's nothing wrong. You end up looking at yourself and saying "Hey, what's wrong with me?" and the answer is always "Yes, apparently you're a bum, and no one likes bums with stains on it". I get comments from people everyday about being happier and enjoying life more, and those are usually the people who go around starting crap with people and acting big and bad. But seriously, that is a crock of shit. And when I start swearing, I really mean it. Shit.

I reiterate a point I made before, a point that has been made time and time again by so many around me (THAT'S the irony). If you are unhappy, it's better off you stay unhappy instead of faking it. To present yourself with an artificial shining smile is just absurd if you don't really mean it. People need to display dissatisfaction so they can be left alone to work things out. When someone is not in a talking mood, that usually means they don't want to talk to you, even if you're the most important person in the world, which you're not.

Phoenix Ball.

Earlier tonight, I volunteered at the Phoenix Ball held at the Mississauga Convention Centre. I was assigned to do coat check, and generally, it was quite fun. It was really funny hanging all the rich people's fur coats that were sooo heavy and reaked of perfume. We collected over $80 in donations for charities (which I thought was pretty good, considering we were just doing coat check). The place was really nicely decorated; I especially loved the balloons!

On the other hand, a couple of my friends went to line-up for Billy Talent tickets yesterday morning. It was the first day the tickets went on sale to the public, and guess what? All floor tickets were sold out! Sigh. It was quite disappointing, but at least our seats aren't too bad!

Thanksgiving.

On Saturday, I went shopping, and then to a training session for the Phoenix Ball. Then, I had a mini Thanksgiving dinner with my family. On Sunday, I ate lunch at Starwalk Buffet with my dad's side of the family. That night, we had a big Thanksgiving dinner with Turkey, Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes/Baked Potatoes, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Pumpkin Pie, Yorkshire Pudding, etcetc. Oh boy... so filling. The night ended off with a bunch of crazy drunks singing karaoke. Yeah, my uncles are pretty much insane. Today, I had lunch with some friends, and then went straight to Scarborough for a family gathering with my mom's side. My long weekend was hectic, but enjoyable. Oh great. School's back tomorrow. Chemistry quiz :(

University Fair 2006

Yesterday I went to the University Fair at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre with a couple of my friends. Picked up lots of information booklets, free pens, lanyards... that kind of stuff. Then we watched a couple presentations, which were very, very, very boring, ha. I bumped into a lot of people I haven't seen in a while. I can't say I learned any new information at this fair, but it was still a good decision to go and check things out ahead of time. POST SCRIPT: I hate people who are unappreciative.
