School registration and lessons of karma.

Today was school registration. We waited in line for a while, got in, paid fees, got our picture done (and mine looks horrible so it will not be going up here), and got our schedules. Afterwards, a couple friends and I bussed to Playdium and went Go-Karting. Then, some of my friends hung out and played the games inside Playdium while some others decided they wanted to mini-golf. We all got bonuses and discounts thanks to Andy (yay for connections) :) I got a Vanilla Bean Frappuchino from Starbucks, and then we took the bus to eat Pho. Here is my schedule for the 06-07 year:

Freedom from the Prelude & Fugue.

WHATWHATTTT. I'm finally done my piano exam. Finally, finally, finally. I had a middle-aged asian woman, and a really old Russian-looking man as my examiners. I've never ever had an Asian person as an adjudicator/examiner, so I thought that was interesting, lol. In my opinion, I totally messed up on my Prelude & Fugue and it definately wasn't up to par compared to my usual.... but I think I made up for it by doing really well on the Ballade. The other four pieces were played as I have played them at home, so I am satisfied. I don't know how the results will turn out, but I'm trying not to worry about them right now.

After my exam, I went out and relaxed with Nikki. First we went to Bubble Republic for some bubble tea, and then we bussed to Sherway Gardens. Shopped for a while, then bussed back and shopped at Square One. Here is a "glimpse" of what I bought:

Of course I bought more than that (haha, heyyy I had to celebrate FREEDOM!), but I was too lazy to take pics of it all :) Registration for Gr.11 year is next Tuesday! Wow, where has my summer gone... I think I'm getting a haircut on Monday with Maria, but for nowwww... FREEEEDOMMMMMMM, FREEEEEEEDOM, FREEEEEEEDOMMM YEAAAAH.

Current obsessions and what not.

  • Late night walks around the neighbourhood aimlessly. Reflecting, pondering, dwelling, regretting, wishing, discovering.

  • Golden Oreos dunked in skim milk and Dunkaroos (but only the ones with plain graham cookies and vanilla icing with rainbow coloured sprinkles). Ice cream floats with root beer and vanilla icecream. Basically, anything vanilla.

  • Hellogoodbye - Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinasours!

  • Fluffy white clouds on hot sunny days. Dark grey murky clouds during cold thunderstorms. Wind that will blow my hair in my face. Sunsets, sunrises. Fireworks, sparklers, glowsticks, bright lights. Really early mornings, really late nights.

  • Writing letters that I will never have the guts to send out.

What are your current obsessions?
My piano exam is in three days. I'm trying not to get even more stressed out than I already am.
It's not exactly working. How can I reduce stress levels?

A Midsummer Night's 30K Run

Yesterday I volunteered for A Midsummer Night's 30K Run downtown Toronto near the lakeshore. When we got to the starting station, they fed us with loads of pizza and sodapop, gave us volunteer t-shirts, and also gave us a bunch of green glowsticks and miniature bicycle lights to attach to ourselves. We were then dropped off at our station in groups of four. I was at Water Station #4, and our job was to fill the cups with water and orange gatorade and then hand them out to the runners and walkers who passed by. The race began at 9pm, and at that time we already needed flashlights to light the way. The glowsticks and bicycle lights actually came in very handy. Around two hours later, we ran out of cups, but many of the runners were so desperate they wanted to drink from their hands. After clean-up, we left our station at midnight and headed back to the 'after party' located at the start line. During the ride home, we all strung our glowsticks together and hung them across the bus, which looked really pretty :) We had a super cool bus driver, and he pumped the music really loud and we drove through the highway with many drivers thinking we were insane. It was definately a fun night, even though I am now left with a zillion gazillion mosquito bites as well as sore arms and legs. There need to be more cool bus drivers like the one we had last night ;)

Mandie's Sweet Sixteen.

During the long weekend (for the fellow Canadians), my friend (and second cousin) Mandie had a sweet sixteen sleepover :) It all started off early Sunday afternoon after my math tutoring. My dad drove me to another friend's house, and there we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Her dad then drove us to the birthday girl's house, and the party commenced from there. There was a lot of junk food laying out on the patio, and we all hung outside for the first part. She has this huge trampoline, and we all had fun jumping on it (and falling off it, I guess). The guys (and some girls) played gamecube upstairs, while the rest of us just chilled and talked... or played Scrabble. At dinner time, we had BBQ hamburgers and hotdogs as well as tossed salad and potato salad. We sang karaoke (old school pop cheyeaaah) and after had cake. Then, we watched Final Destination 3. In the middle of it, me and four other friends went out and lied on the trampoline looking at the "stars" (which were really tiny that night, unfortunately). We ate ice cream, and then watched Aquamarine (hehe). Most of us finally went to sleep at 8am, and surprisingly woke up around 11. Had a brunch, and watched She's The Man. After that, we all went home. It was definitely a fun and memorable weekend! How was your weekend? (Regardless if you had the civic holiday long weekend or not) :]

Valerie Chen's Piano Recital

Here's the deal. My friend Val is having her own mini piano concert, and YOU ARE INVITED ;) Haha, well, everyone is welcome, but if you live in the area, it would be nice if you could attend. It's on August 10, 2006 at 4:30pm. It will be held at Eden United Church on 3051 Battleford Road and it will be a bit over an hour long. Admission is free for everybody, however canned goods and non-parishable food items are greatly appreciated for the church's food bank! Try to come if you can :)
